Learn how to seperate yourself from the competition and have prospects find you!
The basic concept of online network marketing is to buy and sell products with other people in your network. Before the internet this limited you to those physically around you like friends, family, and co-workers.
Can you think of a better place to build a network than the largest network in the world--the internet?
With online network marketing you can grow your business exponentially, globally!
Why place limits on your business growth by prospecting friends and family when you can prospect over 1 billion internet users all over the world?
By taking your network marketing business online you are not restricted to a certain location. No more one-on-one meetings. No more hotel get-togethers. No more hoping that your scheduled appointment shows up while you're sipping your third Vanilla Soy Latte at the local Starbucks (Yes, I've been there).
Online network marketing is especially great for those of us who get nervous talking to people face-to-face or to a large group of people.
With online network marketing you are not only widening your client base, but it's virtual and open to viewers 24x7. A potential prospect can always see what you have to say at any hour of the day, read in detail what you are offering and contact you about your products or services.

How Your Company Provided Website Can Actually Hurt Your Online Network Marketing Efforts
Most network marketing companies provide you with a website where you can refer prospects to your products and services, generate sales, or where they can join your business opportunity.
"That's GREAT!"..."Sounds like all the work is done for me!"..."Where do I sign up?"...
Not so fast!
First, this is not online network marketing!
Second, this only works if your prospect has already worked their way through the marketing funnel and is ready to buy your products or join your company. Your company website should be used at the END of the process, not the beginning. Asking someone to buy from you or join your business without knowing anything about you is like asking someone to marry you on the first date.
The other major problem with the website provided by your company -- EVERY DISTRIBUTOR IS GIVEN THE SAME WEBSITE!
Search engines hate duplicated websites! If you were to search, "Home based business" and thousands of the same website popped up in your search results, would you use that search engine again? Probably not.
The whole purpose of online network marketing is to have prospects find YOU, not the other way around.
It's extremely important to make your own web presence and rank high in search engine results so that when someone searches for you or your products they can actually find you. The only way to achieve this is to have your own, unique, website.
Online network marketing success depends on differentiation.
You can't be different if you are using the website provided by your network marketing company!
What Do I Put On My Website?
The most common question I get after I tell people to stop promoting their products or business opportunity first on their website is, "Well, then what do I put on my website?"
The reason for your website should be to give information!
This is called educational marketing and using it could easily increase your results 100-1000% or even more for someone who has previously used the old techniques in online network marketing.
My good friend Ann Sieg summed it up best in her e-book "The Renegade Network Marketer":
...What the information does is it sells your business indirectly, because it sells the need for it. It gives them the low-down on how to really build a home based business…which leads them to the conclusion that they need good sales and marketing strategies in order to be successful… which, hey, what do you know? You just happen to provide through your opportunity. What a coincidence.
This way, your business becomes an add-on sale and add-on sales are always easier to make than the initial sale.
...The most successful and wealthiest people in any field – not just MLM – don’t market their products or services. They market their knowledge. They market highly valuable information that is of great interest to their target audience. “How to” information that pertains to and leads into what they actually sell.

Well said Ann!
And she's right! By providing visitors to your website with useful, no-nonsense, information it is much easier to make the sale (later) because you've educated them on the need for your product or service first.
Here's an example:
Let's say your business sells nutritional products, and one of your products will help lower bad cholesterol. The information you give on your website tells your visitors what causes high cholesterol, symptoms, exams and tests, medical treatment, prevention, or could list side effects commonly associated with taking prescription drugs.
Here you've given your visitors powerful and useful information on their problem - high cholesterol.
And it just so happens that your business has a solution to that problem with an all natural, safe alternative to help lower their cholesterol.
Who do you think the prospect is more likly to buy from? Someone who provided usable information about their problem and then offers a solution, or someone's website that just screams "BUY MY PRODUCT" or directs them to their company provided website?
